We're not dead, we've just been... sleeping. Anyway I figure its about time to get this club a little more active. Maybe have another devMeet sometime?

At the moment I want to sort out members. People we have listed as members are below. If you're not in the list, but should be or want to be, read on.

To submit art (currently only Auckland-related/themed art): Note the club with the subject "Submit" and the link to the deviation you would like us to submit.

The New Zealand Herald is running a My Auckland photo competition.
The details can be found here [link] but you have until the 16th of November to get your entries in. The top 12 are then voted for by you and the winner will be announced on the 25th of November.

"We're looking for photos that capture the mood and essence of Auckland, images that say something about the photographer's personal experience of the city. We're not expecting professional quality - the spirit and imagination with which the shot is taken is far more important. At the end of the day, Aucklanders will pick their favourite." - Matthew Williams, photographer and My Auckland judge

Send us your entries too, and we'll submit them to the club (yes we will!) and myself (=tigerqueen) will also feature them in my journal (I have a subscription, but I can't quite afford one for this club).

So get creative who knows, we may even have a similar competition ourselves

Sorry guys, once again, due to lack of interest (only ONE person other than us admins!!) we are going to have to call this off at the last minute.
We are going to post a vote in a couple of weeks as to a date that would get most of you there, and change the location to something a little more central and easier for everyone to get to.
Sorry for the hassels, and *marshrr you're just going to have to wait once again to throw my into a pond

Hi guys,

Due to much feedback, devMeet #2 will be this Saturday, July 14th at Auckland Botanical Gardens in Manurewa. We'll be meeting up a from 11am-3pm, for some sketching, photography, writing, modeling - whatever artistic thing comes to mind! Hopefully it will be a nice day to give us some extra inspiration

As for getting there, there are trains and buses (see Maxx for details, they have a very handy journey planner on their website.

Okay, we've decided that the weather is unlikely to be particularly good tomorrow, and with such a low expected turnout we are postponing the devMeet until the weekend of July 14/15th (the final weekend of university exams... Not sure for high school students though). Hopefully this gives enough notice to save some space for us on your calendars! Would Saturday or Sunday be better?

In other news...

I know it's a bit late but there is the Auckland Photo Days today - photos must be taken today (June 9th) before midnight. See here for more details. Thanks to :marshrr: for the notice!

For Spanish-speaking Aucklanders there is a radio programme on Planet FM (104,6 FM), it is at 10am every Saturday morning. I can't understand enough to know if its good but I will assume it is
